Frequently asked questions
Everything students and parents usually ask — and where to read more: pricing, privacy and refunds.
- What is DoubtBoard?
- DoubtBoard is an AI doubt-solving platform. You ask a question — any subject, any language — and an animated whiteboard explains it step by step with synced voice narration, like a teacher working a blackboard: it restates the question, builds intuition visually, gives the formal explanation, works an example, flags common mistakes, and ends with references.
- Why not just use ChatGPT or Gemini?
- They answer a doubt with text. A student who is stuck usually can't write the prompt that would turn that text into a good explanation — and if they could, they wouldn't be stuck. DoubtBoard answers on a whiteboard that draws the explanation step by step with a voice explaining it in your language, so you watch it rather than skim and copy it. Every graph on the board is computed by a math engine, not drawn by the AI, so it is never wrong. And for coaching batches, teachers get a view of what their students are stuck on — something no general chatbot offers.
- Is DoubtBoard free?
- Free accounts get 5 board explanations — no card needed. Paid plans add more: Starter (₹199/month) includes 55 board explanations a month, Plus (₹349/month) includes 150 with human-quality tutor voice, and Premium (₹699/month) is unlimited with an extra accuracy verification pass. Annual plans save 20–28%.
- Which subjects does it cover?
- All of them — math, physics, chemistry, biology, computer science, history and civics, geography and economics, and languages and literature. The board adapts to the subject: computed graphs for math and physics, mechanisms for chemistry, staged diagrams for biology, traced code for computer science, timelines for history.
- Which languages can it explain in?
- Explanations are generated natively in 21 languages, including English, हिन्दी, Hinglish, Español, العربية, বাংলা, தமிழ், తెలుగు, मराठी and اردو. Ask in Hindi and it will answer in Hindi by default, with a one-tap switch to English. Math notation stays universal.
- How do I know the answers are correct?
- Anything computable is computed, never guessed: the AI emits instructions like “plot y = sin(x)” and a deterministic math engine draws the actual curve, so a graph on the board is mathematically true. Numeric results come from a safe evaluator, not from the AI doing arithmetic. On Premium, a second verification pass reviews each explanation for factual errors before it renders.
- Can I use it during a live exam?
- DoubtBoard is a tutoring product, not a cheat sheet. For live exam questions it explains the method and the underlying concepts rather than handing over a final answer to copy.
- Is it safe for younger students?
- Yes — content is strictly filtered in both directions and the tutor won't drift off-topic. For children, India's DPDP Act protections apply: we ask for a guardian's verifiable consent before processing a child's data, and guardians can grant or withdraw consent at any time. Details are in our privacy policy.
- Does it block off-topic or unsafe questions?
- Yes, on several layers. The tutor is instructed that its audience includes school students: stay on the study topic, decline anything off-topic or unsafe, and redirect to learning. Underneath that, the AI models we use have their own safety training and refuse harmful requests regardless of what we ask. The tutor can only respond in our board format, so a refusal shows up as a short redirect on the board rather than a conversation that can be argued with. Uploaded photos are separately screened for inappropriate content before any model sees them. A conceptual question — how a security vulnerability works, for a computer science class — gets an explanation; instructions for actually attacking something do not.
- What happens to the questions I ask?
- Your questions are processed to generate the explanation and to enforce fair-usage limits. We don't sell personal data, and you can export or delete your data from your account page. The full picture — what we store, which processors we use, and your rights — is in the privacy policy.
- How do payments and refunds work?
- Payments in India go through Razorpay (UPI and cards); international card checkout is coming soon. Subscriptions can be cancelled anytime, and refund requests within 3 days of a charge are covered by our refund policy.
- Do you have plans for schools or coaching institutes?
- Yes — the Enterprise plan covers bulk student seats, custom limits and onboarding, and priority support. Write to sales@doubtboard.in and we'll set it up.
